About

Built in Nairobi for serious Kenyan landlords.

We are a small team building the operating system Kenyan rental property actually needs, M-Pesa-native, KRA-aware, audit-ready, and a tenant portal that does not embarrass anyone.

Why we are building EzRent

Kenyan landlords run real businesses, often serious ones, but the tooling looks like 2008. Excel sheets sent over WhatsApp, M-Pesa codes hand-matched to invoices, KRA filings reconstructed from memory at the end of the month, tenants chasing receipts on a Sunday afternoon.

The big international SaaS tools assume an American or British rental market, with credit checks and ACH and tenancy laws that do not apply here. The local options are usually a thin payment page bolted onto a spreadsheet. We thought serious landlords deserved a serious platform, built around the way M-Pesa, KRA, and Kenyan leases actually work.

So we are building it.

What we believe

Money is the product

If a single shilling reconciles wrong, nothing else matters. Every decision starts from the ledger.

Tenants are users too

We serve the landlord, but we ship the tenant portal in English and Swahili because rent is a relationship, not a transaction.

Boring on the things that matter

Auditability, signed webhooks, immutable logs, and clear refund policies. Less novelty, more trust.

Built in Kenya, for Kenya

M-Pesa, KRA eTIMS, ODPC, the Rent Tribunal, the local context is not an after-thought. It is the spec.
